Player Commitment

U15-AAA Commitment

U15-AAA requires a strong commitment from players on their AAA teams. With the three teams, and an increase in the number of games played (including weekend games) this becomes even more important. U15-AAA is an age group in which the commitment level changes.  In the past, some AAA teams have found it difficult to field teams for weekend tournaments and provincial play downs. U15-AAA expects an "enhanced level of commitment" from parents and players in our most competitive baseball division, AAA. The commitment required for AAA baseball may make it very difficult for a player to participate in more than one sport. These players that find this kind of commitment difficult should consider the AA and A teams in their home zone, which are less competitive and consequently do not require the commitment of AAA baseball. Most AA teams do attend provincial play downs, which provides a forum for the more competitive and skilled baseball players that may want to play multiple sports during the spring. Generally, the AA and A seasons ended earlier in the summer than the AAA.

To ensure all players are placed at similar skill and commitment levels, U15-AAA has adopted a set of guidelines on the enhanced commitment required for AAA baseball:

>>Commitment to attend all games (at least 95%)

>>Commitment to attend all regular scheduled practices (at least 75%)

>>Commitment to attend all regular season tournament games (at least 75%)

>>Commitment to attend exhibition games with other teams throughout the province, weekend double header scheduled games, Provincial Play Downs, and Western Regionals or Nationals.

We ask that you consider the coaching staff and other players when making your decision to play AAA. Please check the Sask Baseball and Baseball Saskatoon websites for tournament dates and locations prior to acknowledging the U15-AAA waiver.

Coaches of the AAA teams will notify the Coordinator of SBAAABL if the commitment policy has been violated. The Coordinator would then convene a meeting of the SBAAABL Executive to discuss the violation. If it is felt that the violation has occurred, the player will not be able to be drafted on an AAA team for the next season.
